A Catalogue of Failures: Issue 4
The Catalogue of Failures is an independent publication series that aims to re-situate instances and experiences of ‘failure’ as both fertile and routine. Conceived and designed by artist, archaeologist, anthropologist Alice Clough as part of a larger project exploring the role of vulnerability in facilitating social change. www.catalogueoffailures.com
The Catalogue of Failures is a compilation of failed artworks, and artworks that directly respond to experiences of failure.
Issue 4 includes contributions from 13 international artists and practitioners. The content includes painting, poetry, collage, digital media, photography, lived experiences, glitches, pieces that have been over-worked, pieces that have fallen apart. www.catalogueoffailures.com |
A Catalogue of Failures: Issue 2
|
The Catalogue acts as a device for generating conversations about success and failure, accepted norms (and the unacceptable), worthiness, and value. Failures (the unexpected, the unruly, the uncontrollable, the accidental, the not-part-of-the-plan, the undesired outcomes) are taken out of their original context and encountered as unique and independent works or moments to be explored and experienced. |
Issue 2 features contributions from 42 international artists and practitioners, including photography, sculpture, creative writing, poetry, painting, drawing, collage, performance, research and reflective texts.
