I am a sculptor working in bronze, paper and clay and a printmaker specialising in linocut and woodcut techniques.
I am a resident artist at Bull Mill Arts, an artists' community established by Lord Bath on the Longleat Estate. My work explores the rich metaphorical language of oral narrative traditions and our instinct for anthropomorphism and zoomorphism. My studio is on the banks of the River Wylye and my sketch books are filled with the flora and fauna of the surrounding landscape, the valley water meadows, ancient woodland, open downland and historic parkland. These notebooks have become my zoographical and narrative reference library for my studio work. I studied Art and Art History at Goldsmiths' College (BA Hons 1990-93) and my work is exhibited in London and throughout the UK. instagram.com/oliviacliftonbligh |
