I am a sculptor working in bronze, paper, wax and clay and a printmaker specialising in hand burnished linocut and woodcut techniques.
Working in Britain's rural West Country, my work examines our cultural relationships with the natural world. My studio is in a leafy river valley on the south coast of Cornwall. My sketch books are filled with the flora and fauna of the surrounding landscape, coastal pasture and shorelines, water meadows and river ways, ancient woodland and historic parkland. By integrating closely observed botanical and zoographic studies with narratives drawn from plant medicine, country lore and oral history, I explore the richness and relevance of our ecological heritage in a contemporary context. I studied Art and Art History at Goldsmiths' College (BA Hons 1990-93) and my work is exhibited in London and throughout the UK. I am a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors and the Bath Society of Artists. |
