I am a sculptor working in bronze, paper, wax and clay and a printmaker specialising in linocut and woodcut techniques.
Working in Britain's rural West Country, my work reflects on our cultural relationships with the natural world. My studio is in a leafy river valley on the south coast of Cornwall. My sketch books are filled with the flora and fauna of the surrounding landscape, coastal pasture and shorelines, water meadows and river ways, ancient woodland and historic parkland. By integrating closely observed botanical and zoographic studies with rich narratives from bardic traditions, plant medicine and country lore, I explore our historical and contemporary ecological heritage. I studied Art and Art History at Goldsmiths' College (BA Hons 1990-93) and my work is exhibited in London and throughout the UK. I am a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors and the Bath Society of Artists. |
